United Nations Day

24th October 2025

Today we commemorate United Nations Day, marking the official founding of the UN on 24 October 1945, when its Charter was ratified by the five permanent members of the Security Council – China, the USSR, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.

For 80 years, the UN has played a key role in maintaining peace, promoting human rights, responding to humanitarian crises, and supporting sustainable development. On this occasion, we express our sincere gratitude to all UN staff, experts, field teams, and volunteers who work daily in challenging and often dangerous conditions around the world – from refugee camps to peacekeeping missions and development programs in conflict zones.

We also respectfully remember all those who lost their lives while fulfilling the UN’s mission – whether as peacekeepers, medical personnel, humanitarian workers, or volunteers. Their dedication and courage remain a lasting testament to the values of solidarity, peace, and human dignity.
